Sceneware2006-11-08 SceneCast 1.1 Released

Features New SOAP Remote Operation and Advertising Insertion Capabilities

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (08.11.06) - Sceneware today announced version 1.1 of its industry-leading 3G mobile content producer tool SceneCast. In addition to all the features of SceneCast 1.0 and a number of input, speed and support enhancements, the new version provides SOAP support for remote operation and monitoring, and input-stream switching. These functions are designed to provide customers with a highly marketable and easy to manage revenue-generating tool for creating and remotely managing advertising insertions.

Key new features and functionalities of SceneCast 1.1 include:
  • SOAP support: start/stop and monitor SceneCast remotely
  • input-stream switching: take two or more inputs (capture, file, screen-capture, etc.) as source and show one of them on the output at will. Driven by SOAP. This is very useful for ad-insertions.
  • live Windows Media stream (http, mms, etc) as input source
  • faster GUI response times
  • improved audio and video packetizing options
  • H.264 beta support
  • improved synchronization of audio/video streams on the mobile phones where RTCP support is minimal or lacking

About SceneCast
SceneCast allows content providers to encode content for both live broadcast and on-demand delivery to any 3GPP(2) equipped mobile device like a PDA, mobile phone or smartphone. Available for Windows NT/2000/XP, the tool guarantees lower bit rates, higher video quality and a better all-round end-user experience than any of its competitors.

Excellent encoder quality is assured by taking great care not to exceed the maximum bitrate levels imposed by modern UMTS circuit- and packet switched networks, thereby reducing packet loss and improving video and audio quality. SceneCast also ensures extremely low CPU usage, making it possible to run 6 or more QCIF encoder feeds easily on a single processor. Hardware costs can be reduced still further because SceneCast enables content providers to share capture devices between encoder feeds, for example for simultaneous broadcasting of a single channel to both mobile and internet.
