Now you can celebrate your wedding in twenties style courtesy of Schiphol, Amsterdam's international airport.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands (02.11.06) – Sceneware has just successfully developed the technology to create a personalised wedding trailer in Flash video. This technology does not use Flash overlays - instead it imprints the textual overlays directly into the Flash video.
To see it in action, go to www.schipholweddings.nl and click on the "maak een trailer" button. The website is in Dutch, but is very easy to use for non-Dutch speakers.
This project was ordered by ACHTUNG (www.achtung.nl), in order to give their customer Schiphol a viral marketing tool to reach their happy couples.
The technology
In order to follow the movements of the surface on which text or images are to be placed as precisely as possible, Sceneware created an editor that allows for placement with sub-pixel precision. The editor can zoom in and out and compare frames to make placement easier.
The objects are placed into the video, and a command-line tool takes care of the actual personalisation. To reduce the server load, this tool only re-encodes the video where absolutely necessary and otherwise simply passes-through the data. It has a simple interface that can interface with a web- or other environment.
